Light the tip of your sage bundle and allow it to catch flame for 10–20 seconds. Gently blow out the flame and let the smoke rise. Use a shell or fireproof dish to catch any ash.
Direct the smoke with your hand or a feather around your body, space or objects you wish to cleanse. Move with intention, working from the bottom up and from corners outward. Always open a window or door to allow the old energy to leave.
Smudge your space in the morning before meditation, at the beginning of ceremony, after a long or stressful day or anytime you feel called to reset and return to yourself.
